Draw? Yes you can! Students start with simple shapes as they define value, form and negative space in charcoal, conté and graphite. A progression to color explores the surprising and varied characteristics and techniques of colored pencil. Drawing drapery will be included. Ages 9 and up. Learn the fundamentals of drawing in a positive and fun atmosphere. The class sheds light on the mysteries of drawing by teaching the basic concepts that are the heart of the art of drawing. Students will learn the basics for drawing objects, be introduced to the foundations of perspective, form and shading plus numerous other techniques to enhance creativity. Enjoy two glorious weeks – with eight solid days of painting and drawing instruction and demonstration provided by Kurt and Dana. All levels of experience are welcome. Your painting and drawing subjects are boundless. A model is provided every day, the Montorno studio grounds and the quaint village below beckons and everything can become an intriguing still life – whether you pick it right from the tree or find it in the market. This intensive workshop will help you grow as an artist, like no once-a-week class can do.
The meals and wine (provided every day you are in the studio) are unforgettable! Group field trips, your own excursion and getting to know the wonderful people of a town where very few tourists tread round out this very special experience.
Accommodations are in one of the quaint houses in downtown Seravezza. Double-occupancy and shared bath (unless otherwise specified) breakfast, snacks and plenty of coffee are provided in your house. Transportation to and from the studio is also provided every day.
